Taster Week - what to expect & what to bring
What to bring
Don't worry if you've no idea what furniture to bring or buy. Once you book we send you a clear guide to identifying the ideal project and we'll help you to make the right choice. Before long, it will be second nature.
A Drop-in chair
Bring a drop-in dining seat.
A Stuff-over seat
Bring a stuff-over chair.
Bring working clothes and make sure you have layers to adjust according to the work you're doing
Bring your top cover fabric, or buy it at the workshop if you prefer.
Bring a packed lunch. Store it in the workshop fridge, cook it in the microwave, enjoy the views while you picnic.
What to expect
Individual bespoke tuition
With never more than 5 students, and 2 tutors for most of the time, you'll enjoy all the tuition you need, no matter what your current standard.
Fully equipped workshop
You'll gain experience of all the major traditional upholstery tools, with full tuition. No need to worry if you've never used tools before.
Plentiful home-made cakes and brownies
Liz makes a legendary brownie, according to her students. Not to mention scones and other delights.
Our classes are friendly and enjoyable. Many people make friends here and many come back, year after year.
